This should be a short one…

Most people believe fishing and angling are the same thing but they’re actually pretty different…

Yeah, they are both after the same thing…FISH, but it’s the way they go about it that makes it different…

Angling - is fishing by means of an angle (hook).

Fishing - is the act of catching fish wether by hand, net, hook, spear or any other way.

so by definiton “angling” is “fishing” but “fishing” is not necessarily “angling”…

why angling? where did it come from? Angling is an old english word for fishing that got passed down and around all the way up to today.

Anyway, I hope this cleared up a little bit of the confusion for some of you.

I’ve always loved fishing streams but Some people will tell you…

“You’ll waste your time fishing a stream, or
“There’s no fish to be caught in a stream”

but that’s not true you just need to know what your doing and where the fish are hiding! What I like to do is…

I’ll usually pick a mid size stream, about 8-15 feet wide, 1-2 feet deep, give or take and put a small minow like lure on my hook to keep it looking as natural as possible!

Now only moving a mile an hour(even less at times) I walk along the waters edge dragging my line *DOWN* stream!

And that’s all, but the response I get is insane…and why’s this?

Well…fish in streams like to hide under and behind things and wait for food to come floating by them!

So With this being said if you can manage to drag your bait near rocks, logs, brush, bridges and so-on, you will be putting your lure right in front of any hiding fish that are actually WAITING FOR FOOD to come floating past them! All you gotta do is give them what they want…

And they *WILL BITE* …I guarantee it!

The best part is…STREAMS ARE EVERYWHERE! Most people have a good size stream within 15 minutes of their homes, and the streams are loaded with a number of nice size fish …

largemouth, smallmouth, rock, and white bass, pumpkin seed, trout and tons more! Everytime I hit the streams I catch these fish!

I’ve been hearing a lot of people say they aren’t catching much fish under docks latley, so I thought I’de share my thoughts…

In my experiences of fishing docks you’ll catch the most fish by leaving your bait under there for a little bit. Most people pull away from under the dock in a matter of a few seconds, but that’s way to quick!

you may get some of the dumb younger fish but the *BIG* old wise fish are going to sit back and wait a little bit to inspect your bait to see if it’s worth going for!

Don’t worry leave it there…you shouldn’t be in any rush to remove it, it takes up to 30 seconds sometimes more to get nearby fish to come to inspect your lure. It’s hard to see down there …

Good rule of thumb - if you cant see them they can’t see more than about a foot or two in front of them, so when you drop your line in give it a couple of little shakes(aka-Pops)

-VERY SMALL LITTLE SHAKES- just enough to make a little bit of vibration so that fish in a nearby area can come to see what’s going on.

If nothing try another spot in the SHADE!

it’ll work, guaranteed! If put to use with the rest of my tips you can’t go wrong!
